CylancePROTECT Recognized For Unique Mathematical Approach that Proactively Detects and Protects
IRVINE, Calif., and SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Feb. 10, 2014 – Cylance today announced it has been named as one of the 10 finalists for the RSA® Conference’s 2014 Innovation Sandbox program. On Monday, Feb. 24, Cylance will have the opportunity to demonstrate its security innovation, CylancePROTECT, to the Innovation Sandbox panel of judges for a chance to be named the “Most Innovative Company at RSA Conference 2014.”
Innovation Sandbox promotes new approaches to technology, provides advice and counsel for entrepreneurs, and exposes the RSA Conference community to venture capitalists, industry experts, senior level business practitioners, and thought leaders.
“Being named to the top 10 is an indicator of great things to come for our Innovation Sandbox finalists,” said Alex Bender, general manager of the RSA Conference. “Past winners and finalists have validated this honor through growth, acquisitions, and funding. We expect similar results for the 2014 group and look forward to watching these organizations continue to succeed for years to come.”
The California-based cybersecurity provider Cylance, led by an elite team of security experts, couples the understanding of a hacker’s mentality with algorithmic intelligence and best practices to be truly predictive and preventive against advanced threats. Rather than simply reacting to threats after they have done their damage, Cylance delivers a new mathematically based threat detection model that instantly determines what is safe and what is a threat, automatically learning from hundreds of millions of malicious and non-malicious files, neutralizing the threats before they can open or execute on an endpoint.
“Our innovative, game-changing approach renders new malware, viruses, bots, and unknown future variants useless on a company’s endpoints,” said Stuart McClure, founder and CEO of Cylance. “We wanted to create the first security product that thought like a human, in particular a veteran security expert. And that’s what we’ve achieved. For the first time ever, we have expert decision making on the endpoint for security. The application of this technology is almost limitless.”
The “Most Innovative Company at RSA Conference 2014” winner will be determined at the conclusion of Innovation Sandbox, after each finalist gives a short presentation to a panel of judges that includes Asheen Chandna, Partner at Greylock Partners; Gerhard Eschelbeck, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Sophos; Alastair Goldfisher, Editor of Venture Capital Journal; George Hoyem, Investment Partner at In-Q-Tel; Paul Kocher, President of Cryptography Research; and Katie Moussouris, Senior Security Strategist Lead at Microsoft.
