Drizly Launches Online Marketplace for Beer, Wine & Spirits

by Jeremy Solomons | in News

Drizly LogoDrizly, the technology company behind the first and largest on-demand alcohol app, today introduced new marketplace features that will transform the way consumers shop for beer, wine and spirits. The announcement was made at an event introducing Drizly to the San Francisco market.

By bringing transparency to what has been an opaque and difficult to shop product category, Drizly’s marketplace makes it easier to shop for alcohol online. Consumers can now simultaneously browse the inventories of multiple local retailers and compare prices between them. Through this “endless aisle” shopping experience, consumers have access to the largest possible product selection, can find the lowest prices and may choose to receive their order when and where it is most convenient for them. Depending on their location, consumers will have a range of fulfillment options available to them, including delivery, in-store pick-up and shipping.

Drizly Founders: (from R) Corey Rellas, Nick Rellas and Justin Robinson

“We launched Drizly in 2013 as an on-demand service to make the alcohol buying experience easier. Since then we have aggressively developed our retail partner network, user base and technology to support an e-commerce platform that appeals to a much broader set of consumers,” said Nick Rellas, co-founder and CEO of Drizly.

The launch of Drizly’s marketplace is the latest example of the company’s work to modernize the alcohol industry and enhance the shopping experience. The move further distances Drizly from other on-demand companies that have based their models strictly on delivery.

“Analysts predict that close to 40 percent of online spend will be owned by marketplace retailers by 2020,” noted Rellas. “Our shift to the marketplace model was the natural progression for our business and having that vision early on has allowed us to excel at each stage as we streamline the alcohol shopping experience for consumers.”

The marketplace also helps retailers, providing them additional customers, modern inventory management tools and improved local market insights.

Drizly is rolling out its marketplace features in conjunction with its launch in San Francisco. Beginning today, more than 1.5M residents across San Francisco, East Bay and Stockton will have access to Drizly and be able to shop thousands of options across beer, wine and spirits.

Digital Guardian Announces Strategic Product Licensing Agreement with CounterTack

by Jeremy Solomons | in News

Digital Guardian Logo  Counter_newsDigital Guardian will Integrate CounterTack’s In-Memory Endpoint Threat Analysis, Behavioral Detection and Forensic Capabilities to Increase Protection against Advanced Malware

WALTHAM, Mass. (August 02, 2016) – Digital Guardian, a next generation data protection platform purpose built to stop data theft, today announced it has entered into a product licensing agreement with CounterTack that will integrate CounterTack’s Digital DNA® in-memory threat analysis, behavioral detection and forensic capabilities into the Digital Guardian platform.

Malware that bypasses many detection engines typically resides in memory, and attackers are engineering malware to continuously infect corporate endpoints and servers while evading antivirus and other endpoint detection platforms. Often referred to as fileless malware, they are designed to run processes with higher levels of stealth while enabling increased privilege escalation, lateral movement in the network and ultimately, data exfiltration. Digital DNA® from CounterTack is the industry’s leading solution to detect fileless infections, and other advanced malware. For example, it can detect and contain threats like PowerWare, a new fileless ransomware.

“As we continue our mission to provide ubiquitous data protection from all threats, it’s imperative we integrate advanced capabilities like memory analysis, behavioral detection and forensics as part of our next gen platform,” said Ken Levine, president and chief executive officer, Digital Guardian. “We are extremely pleased to be partnering with CounterTack as the company brings us a complementary technology that provides customers with a higher level of information security, process visibility and threat intelligence.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with an industry leader like Digital Guardian who has an established and growing customer base for its technology that already protects millions of endpoints,” said Neal Creighton, CEO, CounterTack. “Whether it’s CounterTack’s customers or Digital Guardian’s customers, our mutual goal is to help organizations re-establish control across the endpoint environment, where most threats now originate, and where they have the most potential to steal sensitive data. Our in-memory analysis capabilities, along with behavioral-based detection and forensic capture, will provide Digital Guardian customers with enhanced endpoint protection and the unique capability to predict how advanced threats will execute.”

“The evolving threat landscape requires solutions that can detect, analyze, and respond to the variety of methods employed by an attacker, and next generation endpoint security is no exception,” said Doug Cahill, senior analyst, ESG. “Fileless malware is continuing to grow in popularity as a means to evade detection by operating in memory only, an approach to maximize dwell time in order to harvest more sensitive information. Digital Guardian customers will benefit from its partnership with CounterTack by being able to detect and remediate memory-resident attacks faster to protect against data loss.”

The full integration will be completed in 2017. Until then, Digital Guardian plans to resell two of CounterTack’s endpoint detection and response products, both powered by Digital DNA:

  • Active Defense – Enterprise-class malware detection and analysis platform.
  • Responder PRO – Advanced in-memory forensics, malware analysis and reverse engineering tool specifically designed for incident responders.

Cocona® 37.5® And Point6 Announce Partnership

by Jeremy Solomons | in News

37.5 LogoCocona® 37.5® And Point6 Announce PartnershipFor New Line Of Advanced Wool Socks

Point6 and Cocona® announced today an exclusive partnership for wool socks powered by 37.5® technology. Merino wool is one of the top performance fabrics in the outdoor industry, so combining wool with 37.5 nylon creates a higher level of performance sock that delays the onset of sweat, dries faster, increases comfort, and helps control odor.

“Wool is Mother Nature’s miracle fiber, thanks to moisture, temperature, and odor controlling properties,” says Peter Duke, Point6 CEO. “Bringing 37.5 technology fiber into the mix elevates wool’s benefits to a whole new level.”

Managing the microclimate next to the foot extends the user’s comfort range and improves cooling. An in-depth study conducted by the Department of Physiology at the University of Colorado, Boulder reported that by changing from a wicking shirt to a 37.5 shirt athletes extended their performance and reduced their core temperature build up. This same technology can now be found in socks.

The team at Point6 worked with scientists from Cocona to perfect the combination of 37.5 particles with nylon. By layering the 37.5 nylon between 100% compact spun New Zealand Merino wool, Point6 can make a sock that maintains a comfortable level of humidity by delaying the onset of sweat and drying faster, even during high-intensity exercise.

“Peter Duke has had a long and successful history as an innovator with merino wool, so it was exciting to partner with Point 6 on this development,” said Jeff Bowman, CEO of Cocona Inc. “The product they’ve created is fantastic; 37.5 fibers pair very well with natural fibers, turbocharging the inherent properties of merino.”

The active particles in patented 37.5 fiber are permanently embedded in the nylon fabric of the socks and won’t wash out. These active particles provide 800% more surface area to the fiber, while providing a unique driving force to remove moisture vapor unlike any other technology. The particles, naturally derived from coconut shells and volcanic sand, capture heat from the body’s infrared energy to speed evaporation and significantly reduce dry-time.

“Adding 37.5 technology to our socks makes Point6 a far superior product to all other wool socks,” says Duke. “Period!”

Point6 will introduce nine styles powered by 37.5 technology for Spring 2017, plus several tactical styles that are being developed for the military.
