Real Simple and Bookish.com Join a Growing List of Springpad Partners
BOSTON, Mass., August 13, 2013 – Springpad (www.springpad.com), the personal assistant app that helps consumers simplify life, announced today that Jacqueline Hampton has joined the company as CEO and is a new member of Springpad’s Board of Directors.
Hampton brings to Springpad a strong background in strategy, operations and valuable hands-on experience working with a diverse group of digital consumer brands. Most recently, she was a Vice President of Corporate Development at Time Inc., where she acquired domestic and international companies including Golf.com, shopping recommendation engine Stylefeeder, gaming site Mousebreaker (UK) and Grupo Expansión, the premier publisher of consumer magazines in Mexico. She also oversaw Time’s investment on behalf of Sports Illustrated in CitizensSports.com, which was later sold to Yahoo, and the successful sale of a portfolio of 18 titles of The Parenting Group and Time for Media.
“I’m excited to join the Springpad team because of their world-class personal organizer that helps people get things done,” Hampton said. “At Time Inc., I saw firsthand how quickly consumer habits were shifting with the emergence of social, mobile and tablets. Springpad provides consumers a beautifully simple solution that was built with this changing environment in mind. It’s a perfect blend of private productivity and social search, with suggestions from friends and trusted brands.”
Prior to her role at Time Inc., Hampton spent seven years in investment banking working for CitiGroup, Salomon Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch in the Media and Entertainment Group.
“Jacqueline’s deep knowledge of both the digital consumer and building digital brands, coupled with her operational strength and entrepreneurial spirit, made her the ideal choice for leading Springpad through its next phase of growth,” said Paul Ciriello, a Springpad board member and Managing Partner at Fairhaven Capital. “Jacqueline has the passion, relationships and experience necessary to put Springpad on the fast path to being a mainstream consumer app.”
Hampton holds an undergraduate degree from Duke University and a Masters in Business Administration from The University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business. She currently serves as an advisor to Ubersense.com, a sports technology startup in Boston.
Jeff Chow, Springpad’s co-founder and former CEO, will remain focused on product strategy, innovation and development that will continue to surprise and delight the millions of users who have fallen in love with Springpad, and those to come.
“I’m thrilled to have Jacqueline lead the next phase of Springpad’s growth, “ Chow said. “Her deep media experience coupled with a shared passion to help simplify consumers’ lives aligns perfectly with our goal to create a personal organizer for the mainstream.”
